Morning \u2013 St. Paul Arrives in Europe<\/strong><\/p>

Visit Kavala, ancient Neapolis<\/strong> \u2013 the port where St. Paul first set foot in Europe. Continue to Philippi<\/strong>, where he founded the first Christian community on European soil.<\/p>

Afternoon \u2013 Philippi & Lydia<\/strong><\/p>

Visit the traditional Prison of St. Paul<\/strong> and the Baptism Site of Lydia<\/strong>, where St. Paul baptized Lydia, traditionally regarded as the first Christian convert in Europe. Mass at Lydia\u2019s Baptistery<\/strong>, subject to confirmation. Return to Thessaloniki. Overnight in Thessaloniki.<\/p>

Visit Vlatadon Monastery<\/strong>, traditionally associated with the place where St. Paul preached, and St. Paul\u2019s Holy Spring<\/strong>, linked by local tradition with his departure for Berea.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Afternoon \u2013 Berea<\/strong><\/p>

Continue to Berea (Veria)<\/strong> and the Bema of St. Paul<\/strong>, commemorating his preaching in the city described in the Acts of the Apostles. Continue to Meteora. Overnight in Kalambaka.<\/p>

Visit Great Meteoron and St. Stephen\u2019s Monastery<\/strong>, discovering their churches, icons and centuries-old spiritual heritage. Set high among the rock pillars, they remain part of the living tradition of Orthodox monasticism<\/strong>.<\/p>

Afternoon \u2013 Living Monastic Tradition<\/strong><\/p>

Walk the Sacred Way<\/strong> to the Temple of Apollo<\/strong>, heart of the ancient sanctuary, and continue to the ancient theatre<\/strong> overlooking the valley. Optional visit to the Archaeological Museum<\/strong>, whose collection includes material connected with the Gallio Inscription<\/strong>, an important reference for dating St. Paul\u2019s time in Corinth.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Afternoon \u2013 Galaxidi<\/strong><\/p>

Continue to Galaxidi<\/strong>, a traditional maritime town of old captains\u2019 houses and a picturesque harbour. Visit St. Nicholas Church<\/strong> and enjoy time along the waterfront.<\/p>

Evening \u2013 A Taste of Greece<\/strong><\/p>

Dinner in a traditional local taverna, with Greek food and, where possible, live local music. Overnight in Galaxidi.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Visit the Monastery of Hosios Loukas<\/strong>, one of Greece\u2019s great Byzantine monasteries and a living place of prayer. Its remarkable 11th-century gold-background mosaics<\/strong> reveal another chapter of Greek Christianity \u2013 centuries after St. Paul, yet part of the same enduring Christian heritage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Visit the Acropolis and Parthenon<\/strong>, the defining landmarks of classical Athens. Continue to the Areopagus (Mars Hill)<\/strong>, where St. Paul addressed the Athenians and spoke of the \u201cUnknown God.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

Evening \u2013 Athens from Above<\/strong><\/p>

Dinner at a carefully selected restaurant or rooftop terrace overlooking the illuminated Acropolis<\/strong>. Overnight in Athens.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Corinth \u2013 Cenchreae \u2013 Athens<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Morning \u2013 St. Paul in Corinth<\/strong><\/p>

Visit Ancient Corinth<\/strong>, where St. Paul lived and preached for about eighteen months. Stand before the Bema<\/strong>, the Roman tribunal traditionally associated with Paul being brought before Gallio, proconsul of Achaia<\/strong> \u2013 the same Gallio whose name appears in the inscription connected with Delphi.<\/p>

Afternoon \u2013 From Corinth toward Ephesus<\/strong><\/p>
